It's Monday, what are you reading?

It’s Monday!  What Are You Reading is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between!  This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

Hosted by: Book Journey

Last week turned out to be far busier than I'd expected it to be so it took me alllll week to get through Porno by Irvine Welsh (review up tomorrow) but I'm expecting a quiet one this week so hopefully I'll make my way through all the books I list up here!
1. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith (wouldn't you love to share an author's credit with someone like Austen?!)
Graphic Novels:
2.  Fell Written by Warren Ellis, illustrated by Ben Templesmith

Audio books:
3. The Call of the Cthulhu and other stories by H.P. Lovecraft

Reference books/uni work:
4. The Gospel of the Living Dead by Kim Paffenroth

Dear readers can I ask you a question? I want to know if you'd like me to review the books I'm reading for my thesis or if that sounds tedious/boring/dull etc. Obviously it won't be any of the dense theory books but some of the books I'm reading at the moment are really interesting anthologies of essays by amazing academics and I'm more than happy to share, I just don't want to risk putting you all to sleep! Let me know in the comments!

  1. If you are enthusiastic about the books you're reading for your thesis, by all means, review them here.

I finished ten books this week which actually surprises me because I hardly did any reading during my usual fun reading time. Come see what I finished.

  2. 10 books! Wow I'm so completely impressed by that!

  3. I think you should totally review your thesis books if you want to! I try to review everything I read!

I keep meaning to read Pride & Prejudice & Zombies, I've had it forever!

Please feel free to stop by my Monday :)

  4. Being a Scot I feel guilty that I'm not a fan of Irvine Welsh. Look forward to your review though.

Definitely think you should review your books if you are enjoying them.

Hope you like Pride and Prejudice and Zombies!

  5. Thanks for the support guys, I think I will review them on here but I'm going to be selective and make sure I don't choose anything to dry or academic (because let's be honest I probably won't want to review them anyway!).

@Karen - I love Welsh, but he definitely isn't everyone's cup of tea. I must say though, after struggling with the accent I am terrified to visit Scotland on my Europe trip next year, I don't think i'll understand any of you!!

  6. @Kauleigh: I love Anne Rice, although her novels are SO heavy. I've spent more time on The Vampire Chronicles than any other books, and I don't even know what makes it so. Either way, I absolutely love Lestat, so it's worth taking my time with "his" books:)

  7. I just finished a great zombie book called The Undertakers:Rise of the Corpses by Ty Drago. I am not a huge zombie fan but really like this, my review will post later to day. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  8. I'll have to check it out Jan. I'm a big fan of zombies but I tend to concentrate on them in film and comics and have neglected their poor dead literary cousins!
